Crystal Palace has defeated the Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Championship match played at the Molineux Stadium on Tuesday. Crystal won the match by a close margin of 2-1. This was the third defeat for the Wolves in the ongoing Npower Championship.

After losing this match, the Wolves have now moved down to no. 3 in the points table. They have won five out of the nine matches that they have played in the tournament so far. They have been defeated in three matches, while, two of their matches have finished without any result. They currently have 16 points.

On the other hand, this was the fifth win for the Crystal in the competition. This victory helped them to move up in the points table. They are now placed at no. 4 with 16 points in 9 matches.

Both these teams had won their last three Championship matches in a row. So, this match was supposed to be a close one and that’s what it actually turned out to be. This was a thrilling encounter and the supporters who were out there in the stadium saw a display of high class football.

In the first half, neither of the two teams tried to attack too much. The approach of both the teams was defensive and there were no goals scored in the first 45 minutes.

It was the Wolverhampton Wanderers which took the lead in the 53rd minute of the match with the goal of Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. But, the Wolves weren’t able to remain ahead in the match for too long. Wilfried Zaha fired a couple of goals for Crystal in a space of 7 minutes and the Wolves got trailed by 1-2. The Crystal team managed to maintain its lead till the end and won the match.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers will now take on the Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
