In spite of a failed drug test, Aaron McCarey can still play for Wolves

Aaron McCarey is a 23 year old Irish shot-stopped who has been a player of Wolverhampton Wanderers since 2010 when he first signed his contract with the English club as he joined the youth academy of the team.

From there on out McCarey has went on to join other clubs such as: AFC Teiford United, Walsall and York City all on loan deals and this is a regular thing to do as clubs usually loan out some of their younger performers so they can get a chance of appearing in the main stage of a team and start earning experience.

So far, Aaron McCarey has made less than 6 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers since joining the club back in 2010 and even though the Irish player was tested positive for a drug test, he is still able to play any of the upcoming competitive fixtures of the Wolves as his sanction was suspended for 2 years.

As punishment for failing the drug test, McCarey received a suspension of 4 months but this sanction will not be applied at least for 2 years and this is due to a hearing which was held by the Football Association which concluded with this decision.

The 23 year old Irish goal-keeper Aaron McCarey is allowed to play in matches for his club but it seems unlikely that it will happen as he has to compete against at least 3 other players for a spot in the starting role, it seems like a more realistic outcome to see him being loaned out to another club once again.

During the opening match of the season, Wolverhampton locked horns with Blackburn Rovers and won 2-1, in this game Kenny Jackett opted to go with Carl Ikeme as his main goal-keeper meanwhile in the Capital One Cup match that Wolves played against Newport County, Jackett selected Emiliano Martinez and Carl Ikeme sat on the bench.

It seems like the battle for the goal-keeping position will be fought between Emiliano Martinez and Carl Ikeme.
