The manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Kenny Jackett, has made it clear that he will use his new signing Nouha Dicko as the main striker and not as a winger.

The Wolves have recently bought Dicko from Wigan Athletic after paying an unrevealed transfer fee.

Dicko who is a young French player is capable of playing up front as well as on the wings. He has performed well playing at both the positions for various clubs in the last few years. There were speculations that at Wigan, he will be used more as a winger, but, Jackett has denied that. According to the Wolves boss, Dicko can be better utilized up front and he will play at that position only.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, Jackett said, “For me, Nouha is a forward. Yes, he has been used at other positions too at times, but, I have brought him in as a striking option only.”

“As far as playing on the wings is concerned, we have got players for that. What we needed was a good central forward and that’s why, we signed him. He will be considered as a winger only in emergency situations.”

Jackett also said that a few more players might be making their way at the Wolverhampton ground in the upcoming weeks.

When asked if any more signings are on the cards, the 51 years old Welshman said, “Yes, there might be a few more guys coming in. However, nothing is certain at the moment. We are having a look at different options. Let’s see what happens.”

The Wolves have performed amazingly well in the League One this season. They have won 15 out of their 26 games and are presently at the third position in the table. They are just 3 points behind the top positioned Brentford.
