Neither side is in a hurry to grind out results for the sake of avoiding relegation, but with their bragging rights at stake, none of both sides will want to suffer a loss as well.

Since Wolves secured promotion to the Premier League, they have even progressed and will want to continue moving on that curve. After winning three out of the last four matches, manager Kenny Jackett says that he will be disappointed with the temporary exit of Sako.Sako will be going to play in the African Cup of Nations.

Mali are not one of the favourites to win the trophy and this should seeSako returning much earlier than anticipated. Jackett is being left torn with the idea ofSako performing well at the Africa Cup of Nations. Doing so will help him continue his form with Wolves after returning to league action, but it would also put him on the radar of several clubs both in England and abroad.Sako is already creating a lot of attention with his impressive form in the first half of the season.Jackett says that the club will do everything in order to keep him at the Molineux Stadium.“There’s always speculation about Sako all of the time and he’s a good player.

“Him going away, does it give him more profile or is it harder to get hold of him?It could work either way.I think in the end if somebody wants him they want him and it will work out.For me personally and everybody at the club. we would want to keep him.Yes, his options are open until the end of the season.I wouldn’t say that we’re out of the running, but we’ll both remain open minded as the season goes,” said Jackett.

Wolves manages to put nail in coffin for Milanic

Wolverhampton Wanderers managed to continue their impressive run of form in the Championship after a 2-1 win over Leeds United. While this was an extremely positive result for the club that was struggling in League One only last season, it was the final nail in the coffin for Leeds United boss Darko Milanic. He was sacked from his role after just six matches in charge, but Kenny Jackett experienced opposite emotions. The club have seen an incredible rise in the last 24 months under the management of Jackett. The Midlands club were not expected to be one of the contenders for promotion this season after having been promoted to the second division of English football only last summer.
However, they seem to have done extremely well upon their return and are currently top of the table albeit only on goal difference. Jackett praised the run that his team has put in over the last few weeks. Wolves have taken seven points out of last possible nine. It has kept them in contention for an automatic promotion spot. Only two teams are promoted automatically to the Premier league. Returning back to the English top division is very crucial for the club, which has suffered immensely in terms of finances over the last few years. They have suffered back-to-back relegations prior to returning to the Championship.
“It was a big win. Seven points out of nine is a very good return in what is a tough division. Leeds deserved their first half lead. We weren’t penetrating and didn’t cause them enough problems and on the other hand Steve Morison had a very good first half for Leeds with the goal and a couple of other chances coming from him down the inside right channel. It caused us a lot of problems but that changed in the second half,” said Jackett.

WOlves UNlikely To Make New Signings

Wolves have admitted that they are unlikely to sign Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire, who looks set to move to much bigger clubs. The 21-year-old defender is one of the highly rated youngsters in English football right now. He came through the ranks at Sheffield United and has been linked with a move to the Premier league. After getting recently promoted back to the Championship, Wolves will straightaway be looking to challenge for a return to the Premier League. However, they may have to do so without the presence of Harry Maguire.

Manager Kenny Jackett accept that the player, like everybody else, wants to play at the top level. Since there are several opportunities for him to make this dream come true, it looks highly unlikely that he will join Wolves. This is despite Wolves achieving promotion to the Championship with records point tally. Their squad is so strong that they could be considered as potential challengers for a play-off place in the upcoming Championship season. Since making his debut in 2011, Maguire has gone on to make more than 120 appearances for Sheffield United in all competitions. He has also made one appearance for the England under 21 team.
Moving to a much bigger club than Sheffield United is expected to boost his international career.

“On the face of it, European football is a dream for all of us. One thing it does seem is that he’s very much sought after and there’s a lot of speculation surrounding him and it does seem as if he’s going to move imminently. We’ll see – we’re always pursuing good players, it’s a case of if they come into our financial scope. The fact we’re in the Championship now can be a good and a bad thing sometimes depending on the stage of a particular person’s career,” said Jackett.
