Wolverhampton Wanderers Captain Conor Coady Enjoying The Moment

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady has admitted that he is enjoying the moment of winning the Championship title rather than looking far ahead into the future. The Wolves sealed the crown after beating Bolton Wanderers 4-0 on the road and following the game, Coady revealed his delight over a successful season.

He said: “It was a really happy day for me, it was such a great feeling. In front of nearly 5,000 Wolves fans as well, it was special for me. This whole season is one that I’ll look back on and think ‘I’ve played in a good team here!’The fans have travelled home and way to watch us this season and I hope they’ve enjoyed watching us. It’s really special to play in front of them.”

Wolverhampton had envisaged a similar outcome during their first season under Fosun but things did not pave the way as planned. However, with the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo last summer, the west Midlands outfit transformed into a side capable of pushing for promotion with a couple of high-profile signings made along the way.

The Championship winners are expected to receive a much stiffer challenge when they make their return to the top-flight but there is a sense that the Wolves will perform much better than other promoted clubs as they have been able to lure top talents with the influence of super-agent Jorge Mendes.

The likes of Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves have evolved into match-winners for the club over the season and the latter, in particular, has turned heads across Europe with his tendency to score sublime long-range goals. Neves is already the subject of interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United and Wolves will have done themselves a huge load of good by restricting his sale at any cost during the summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Insists They Have Not Broken FA Or EFL Regulations

Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers have stressed that they have complied with the FA and EFL regulations amid concerns raised over their ownership structure. The west Midlands side have come for criticism from several other clubs around them owing to their vast sums spent on players and wages during the ongoing campaign.

Super-agent Jorge Mendes was influential in convincing Fosun International to take over the Wolves during the summer of 2016, and his activities therein have brought plenty of scrutiny. The Portuguese lured manager Nuno Espirito to the Championship outfit during the summer, and the club have since pursued the likes of Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves, both of whom are representative by Mendes himself.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ poor form continued after a 2-1 loss against Preston North End

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ poor form continued after a 2-1 loss against Preston North End during the weekend.

Manager Kenny Jackett made some surprising changes to the team like bringing Jack Price back to the first-team reckoning. Bringing back the 23-year-old made that the club had to be without the services of Kevin MacDonald for this crucial match. However, Jackett said that there was nothing wrong in making this call since Price has been a player who has never let him down. This change meant that MacDonald has missed his first game after 24 consecutive appearances.

However, Jackett said that there was nothing wrong in making this call since Price has been a player who has never let him down. This change meant that MacDonald has missed his first game after 24 consecutive appearances.

Scottish footballer MacDonald may play as a defensive midfielder for the club, but he has contributed to the team’s attacking intent with three goals and two assists.

He is significantly more experienced than Price and the failure to get a result against Preston has only questioned the need for a change. Jackett, though, needed to do something after his team failed to win four games in a row. This pushed them into the bottom half of the table. Even though Jackett labelled Price as a dependable asset, some rumours have claimed that MacDonald was dropped from the first-team due to disciplinary issues rather than poor form.

Hence, the decision to recall Price may have been forced upon the manager. It remains to be seen if he will retain his place for the trip to Huddersfield Town.“I felt Jack Price just edged McDonald, there’s no other reason than that. For that three-man midfield my selection was that I wanted to play Price, have a look at Price in that particular role.I think he did fine. The big thing about Jack Price is he’s a very consistent player. And he’s a very consistent person. He’ll never let you down,” said the Wolves manager, who has been coming under great pressure of late.

Wolverhampton Wanderers went on a run of four consecutive victories

Wolverhampton Wanderers went on a run of four consecutive victories that helped them dream about a place in the play-off places at the end of the campaign.

This time, however, came to an end after the 2-1 defeat against Birmingham City. This defeat could not have come at a much worse time for the club, as there are only a couple of matches left. Wolves will be aware at they cannot draw any more points in the quest for promotion. It does not get any easier for the club next week as they are up against Middlesbrough, who have been one of the best teams in the division.

Wolves will be aware at they cannot draw any more points in the quest for promotion. However, poor form in the last few months has seen Middlesbrough dropped from the lofty heights of being table leaders. There are now fourth in the table and will be providing a stern test for Wolves. This match will then be followed by a game against another play-off contender – Ipswich Town. Despite this tough run of matches, Wolves manager Jackett says that he wants the club to finish in the top six. It has been an incredible run from the Midlands club, who were relegated to League One not long ago. They have managed to bounce back in the best possible fashion.

“Middlesbrough are a good side and have a fantastic home record. But if we want to be in the Premier League then we want to be talking about ourselves in these types of circles. We shouldn’t be frightened of Middlesbrough, we respect them, they’ve done very well, had a excellent season and have a good manager and players. But we want to be competitive in this division and be a force. This type of week where we play Middlesbrough and Ipswich, two of our direct rivals, will really test us and see what we’re made of,” said Jackett.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fidling with Financial Issues

As a way to soften the financial consequences that clubs suffer once they are relegated from the Premier League, these clubs receive parachute payments and one of these clubs is Wolverhampton Wanderers which is currently performing in the English Championship League after having lost their spot in the Premier League back in 2012.

Even with these parachute payments, Wolverhampton reported annual losses of around €1.7 million. Nonetheless, this won’t stop the manager Kenny Jackett from trying to accomplish what he has in mind which is to invest in youth in order to achieve success and secure a long term future that can allow the club on creating a stable system where young players get their chance to showcase their abilities and eventually get promoted to the main squad.

“I think we’re committed to a structure that will help us and sustain it long term, and is realistic as well, to see us competing at the top of this level and then be getting into the Premier League,”

“And I think that structure is really building strongly from the bottom with the academy, then if possible buying young players. There are many reasons why that’s the right way to go. But actually throwing everything at it, I don’t think we’re going to do that.”Wolverhampton’s Kenny Jackett said.

Not will this increase the quality of the squad with young players entering the team on a consistent basis but it can also give some breathing space for Wolverhampton as they can opt to sell their players to other top teams around Europe.

BT and Sky have recently secured TV rights of the Premier League which will grant the clubs participating in the league an increase in their revenue of around 70% and now clubs currently competing in the 2nd tier Championship League are eager more than ever to enter and compete in the Premier League.
